Lo scenario contemporaneo della salute è molto cambiato negli ultimi anni: se è vero che abbiamo una speranza di vita più lunga, questa non sempre corrisponde ad un reale miglioramento della qualità di vita dei pazienti (Lazzari, 2013). Oggi ci troviamo di fronte alla necessità di rispondere sempre più ai bisogni di salute di persone affette per lo più da malattie croniche e di rispondere alle esigenze economiche relative alla necessità di riduzione della spesa sanitaria attraverso programmi di prevenzione.
Nine weeks versus 1 year adjuvant trastuzumab in combination with chemotherapy: final results of the phase III randomized Short-HER study
Background: Chemotherapy plus 1-year trastuzumab is the standard adjuvant treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The efficacy of less extended trastuzumab exposure is under investigation. The short-HER study was aimed to assess the non-inferiority of 9 weeks versus 1 year of adjuvant trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy. Scar endometriosis: not a rare cause for a painful scar
Introduction. Endometriosis has been described as the presence of endometrial tissue outside uterine cavity. Scar endometriosis (SE) is a rare disease reported in 0.03-1.08% of women following gynaecologic surgery. In our retrospective observational cohort study we studied anamnesis, symptoms, surgical procedures and outcomes linked to scar endometriosis in our medical experience from 2004 to 2018. Methods. We reviewed the medical records of 46 patients with a histopathological diagnosis of SE. All patients had a history of at least one previous caesarean section (n=46, 100%).
