282 Ophtalmologic follow-up of diabetic patients managed by Gps or diabetologists: results of FOCUS survey

ObjectiveTo describe the ophthalmological follow up and cardiologists-nephrologists’ involvements in diabetic patients managed by GPs or diabetologists.MethodsTransversal and observational survey conducted in 2009, by 1112 GPs and 188 specialists.Results2577 diabetic patients (T1D or T2D) have been included; 63% were males, and mean age was 62 years. Mean diabetes duration was 10 years. Most of them were hypertensive (72%), 68% had a dyslipidemia and 30% a non proliferative diabetic retinopathy. International audience; Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of a continuing medical education (CME) website to improve the knowledge of ophthalmologists for the management of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Methods: A World Wide Web site called RETIDIAB® was created. At their first connexion, users had to answer a first test in order to evaluate their baseline level. Then they could have free access to the entire website, any time they wanted, with no obligation of duration.
