The modern era of emerging intelligent technologies necessitates the development of technologyspecific design methods. Artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and autonomous systems are expected to replace humans in many intelligent information-processing tasks. To develop such systems, however, designers need to understand what happens in the minds of the people completing such tasks today.
