Sobre Sonchus tenerimus L. (Compositae) y su variabilidad en la flora valenciana
The variability of Sonchus tenerrimus L. (Compositae) is analyzed from material in the coastal mountains of the Valencian Community (Spain). Two new subspecies are described: S. tenerrimus subsp. polypodioides subsp. nov., and S. tenerrimus subsp. halodianae subsp. nov., a description and an iconography for each of them is included. Three names are also lectotypified: S. dianae Lacaita ex Willk., S. tenerrimus var. arborescens Salzm. ex Ball, and S. tenerrimus var. maritimus Ball from original material conserved in the herbaria BM and K

Sobre la descripción de Sideritis ×antonii-josephii (Labiatae)
?Sideritis ×antoniijosephii? (Labiatae) was proposed in 1947 as a new hybrid by Pío Font i Quer from material collected inTeruel (Spain) on the occasion of a century dedicated to Cavanilles and distributed in an exsiccata in1947. This hybrid was proposed as the result of the natural cross between ?S. glacialis var. pulvinata? and S. hirsuta. However, the name of this hybrid, considered by some authors as validly described, is sofar an invalid name because it was not effectively published. In this work the effective publication of the description of this hybrid is carried out, specifying the identity of its parents according to the current taxonomy of the genus.

<i>Santolina ageratifolia</i> Bamades ex Asso (<i>Compositae</i>) and their relationships with <i>S. rosmarinifolia</i> L.
The status of Santolina ageratifolia Bamades ex Asso as a distinct species belonging to S. rosmarinifolia L. aggr. is vindicated. An historical approach, a revision of the diagnostic characters and a detailed chorology of the species in Spain is presented. Likewise, some doubtful questions conceming taxonomy and chorology in Spain of the whole aggregate (including S. rosmarinifolia L. s. str., S. canescens Lag., S. pectinata Lag. and S. semidentata Hoffmanns. & Link) are clarified. A new nomenclatural combination is proposed: S. semidentata subsp. melidensis (Rodriguez-Oubina & Ortiz) Lopez Udias, Fabregat & Mateo.
Novedades para la flora soriana, 2. Plantas arvenses, ruderales o neófitas
Continuing with the series of publications on the flora of the province of Soria (Spain) that precedes the review and reedition of the Floristic Catalogue of Soria (SEGURA & al., 2000), 25 taxa are incorporated, corresponding to vascular plants, which had not previously been recorded. A part of them are neophyte species from America or southern Africa that have recently appeared; others are weed, ruderal or road flora of paleotempered origin (Latecircunmediterranean Iranoturanian). All of them provide with an enlargement of their known distribution area, or with an improvement in the knowledge of their means and paths of expansion. The recent creation of big communication infrastructures su…

Abstract Three new species are described in Biscutella sect. Biscutella from the central-eastern mountains of the Iberian Peninsula B. bilbilitana Mateo & M.B. Crespo, B. segurae Mateo & M.B. Crespo, and B. conquensis Mateo & M.B. Crespo. They are characterized morphologically, ecologically and chorologically. Data separating them from B. valentina (L.) Heywood, a taxon to which they sometimes have been referred, are also reported.
Chromosome numbers in Hieracium and Pilosella species (Asteraceae) from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands
Mitotic chromosome numbers are reported from 16 Hieracium and two Pilosella species from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands that are little known cytogenetically. The chromosome numbers of Hieracium aragonense Scheele (2 n = 27, 36), H. compositum Lapeyr. (2 n = 27), H. murcandidum G. Mateo (2 n = 27), H. spathulatum Scheele (2 n = 27), H. segurae Mateo (2 n = 27), H. teruelanum Mateo (2 n = 27), H. valentinum Pau (2 n = 27), Pilosella pseudovahlii (De Retz) Mateo (2 n = 18), and P. tardans (Peter) Sojak (2 n = 36) were determined for the first time. New cytotypes were detected in H. cordifolium Lapeyr. (2 n = 27) and H. loscosianum Scheele (2 n = 36). The karyo- type of the stu…

<strong>Nomenclatural types of <em>Hieracium</em> (Asteraceae) species described from the Balearic Islands (Spain) and several related taxa</strong>
A nomenclatural revision of the genus Hieracium in the Balearic Islands (Spain) is presented and the typification of five names: H. aragonense Scheele, H. balearicum Arvet‑Touvet, H. elisaeanum Arvet-Touvet ex Willkomm, H. majoricanum Arvet-Touvet and H. microscapum Arvet-Touvet, is discussed. The names are lectotypified using specimens preserved at COI, GRM, and P herbaria. Several comments for the names H. cataractarum Arvet-Touvet & Huter and H. praecox subsp. brachypus Freyn in Porta & Rigo are also provided.
Taxonomic and nomenclatural revision of Carlos Pau’s names in Hieracium (Asteraceae)
During a study on the taxonomy of Hieracium for the Flora iberica project, several names turned out to be not yet typified. In the present paper, 63 names of Hieracium are treated. In order to fix their applications, nomenclatural types for 28 Pau’s names in the genus Hieracium are designated (27 lectotypes, 1 neotype and 1 epitype). All the type material available is listed with full label data, and some nomenclatural and taxonomic comments are provided.
On the circumscription and taxonomic status of Centaurea caballeroi (Compositae)
Data are reported on …

Novedades de flora soriana, 1
We initiate a series of publications on the flora of the province of Soria, Spain, which are previous to the review and reedition of the Floristic Catalogue of Soria (SEGURA & al., 2000), to incorporate 50 taxa corresponding to vascular plants which had not previously been recorded for the flora of province of Soria. Since the level of prospection in the Province is currently very high, these recent findings are all rare and scarce taxa in the province?s territorial context; some are peripheral or much localized, others are restricted to scarce environments and require them to be well preserved; in general, they show a presence extent very diffuse or fragmented in the Province. Another part…
