Knowledge of managerial competencies: cross-cultural analysis between American and European students

2019

This paper reports on the differences of managerial competencies among MBA students from American and European business schools. The results of this research suggest that there are certain differences of not only nationality but also gender. The study also points out the need for different managerial competency profiles to better assess MBA students looking for future career development. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference at the national level between assessed managerial competencies of American and European MBA students that can be attributed to cultural factors. This conclusion confirms the findings of Chong (2008) and Akinola, Martin, and Phillips (2018). Secon…

Key factors of information management for crowdfunding investor satisfaction

2021

Abstract Crowdlending platforms are becoming increasingly important as a collective financing mechanism for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially those at an early stage. Specifically, the study examines communication policies and the quality of the investor experience based on the information provided by these platforms. The value of this article lies in its examination of the antecedents of crowdlending investor satisfaction. The analysis shows that the…

The financial performance of listed companies in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

2021

[EN] Socially responsible companies whose values are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) contribute to creating wealth and long-term economic and social value. In this paper, fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) is used to identify the configurations of conditions that lead to high or low financial performance (return on equity) for a sample of companies in the IBEX 35. Firms should adopt business models that embrace the SDGs because sustainability-based models can ensure not only the present but also the future of generations…

Beyond Subsidies: A Study of Sustainable Public Subordinated Debt in Spain

2019

Evidence from business shows that small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are fragile. They suffer from a high mortality rate that primarily owes to difficulties in securing financing as a result of major information asymmetries. Despite these difficulties, SMEs provide the economic backbone of all economically developed countries. Aware of the key role of SMEs in national economic stability and of the financial problems that SMEs face, governments have designed a range of financial and tax measures to protect them. These financial measures include a highly specific form of public financing called subordinated debt. This concept refers to debt with the lowest credit seniority, just befor…
