PENGAMATAN PENDAHULUAN OVARIUM BANDIKUT (Echymipera kalubu)

The study aimed to determine the size and physical description (location, shape, colour and texture) ovarian of Echymipera kalubu. Study was conducted in 3 months from June to September 2017. Three female E. kalubu with an average body weight 399±97.32g and average body length 21.67±5.51cm were used in this study. Sample of bandicoots were dissected using a surgical tool and then measured using measuring tester and analytic scales. Descriptive statistics was used to analyse the data. Abstract A deeper knowledge regarding the biology of the reproduction of tropical deer in its natural habitat is limited. The appearance of a standing tail and increased urination behavior are sexual characteristics of female deer. This research aims to study the mating behavior of females based on urination activity and upright-tail appearance in female Timor deer. The results showed that the lowest urination frequency of female deer (12.37%) occurred between 10.0012.00, while the highest (22.22%) was between 08.00-10.00. Investment of parasitic worms of captive wildlife was an impact on their health condition. This study was conducted to determine the intensity of parasitic worm infection in wild animals kept by communities in Manokwari, West Papua. The Natif method was used, by centrifuge of 20 birds and 20 mammals (Kangaroo and Deer) faeces collected from the sites. Sampling was carried out from October to November 2016. The analysis of collected faecal samples showed that bird species were not indicated (negatively infected by worm). In mammals, Nematodes and cestodes were found.
