Electromagnetic Corrections for Pions and Kaons : Masses and Polarizabilities

1996

The unknown constants in Chiral Perturbation Theory needed for an all orders analysis of the polarizabilities and electromagnetic corrections to the masses of the pseudo-Goldstone bosons are estimated at leading order in $1/N_c$. We organize the calculation in an $1/N_c$-expansion and separate long- and short-distance physics contributions by introducing an Euclidean cut-off. The long-distance part is evaluated using the ENJL model and the short-distance part using perturbative QCD and factorization. We obtain very good matching between both. We then include these estimates in a full Chiral Perturbation Theory calculation to order $e^2$ $p^2$ for the masses and $p^6$ for the polarizabilitie…

QCD isospin breaking in meson masses, decay constants and quark mass ratios

2001

The procedure to calculate masses and matrix-elements in the presence of mixing of the basis states is explained in detail. We then apply this procedure to the two-loop calculation in Chiral Perturbation Theory of pseudoscalar masses and decay constants including quark mass isospin breaking. These results are used to update our analysis of $K_{\ell4}$ done previously and obtain a value of $m_u/m_d$ in addition to values for the low-energy-constants $L_i^r$.

Effective Theories for QCD-like at TeV Scale

2014

We study the Effective Field Theory of three QCD-like theories, which can be classified by having quarks in a complex, real or pseudo-real representations of the gauge group. The Lagrangians are written in a very similar way so that the calculations can be done using techniques from Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT). We calculated the vacuum-expectation-value, the mass and the decay constant of pseudo-Goldstone Bosons up to next-to-next-to leading order (NNLO) \cite{Bijnens:2009qm}. The various channels of general $n$ flavour meson-meson scattering of the three theories are systematically studied and calculated up to NNLO \cite{Bijnens:2011fm}. We also calculated the vector, axial-vector, s…

Working group on goldstone boson production and decay

2008

This is the summary of the working group on Goldstone Boson Production and Decay of the Chiral Dynamics Workshop in Mainz, September 1–5, 1997. For the production aspects we discuss π0 and η production in nucleon-nucleon collisions and the behaviour of hadrons in various sum rules. For the decays we present a discussion on various K, η and π decay channels. Other aspects discussed are a new treatment of meson-meson scattering, the light-by-light contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment and progress in various aspects of the p 6 generating functional in the mesonic sector.

The anomalous magnetic moment of the muon in the Standard Model

2020

We are very grateful to the Fermilab Directorate and the Fermilab Theoretical Physics Department for their financial and logistical support of the first workshop of the Muon g -2 Theory Initiative (held near Fermilab in June 2017) [123], which was crucial for its success, and indeed for the successful start of the Initiative. Financial support for this workshop was also provided by the Fermilab Distinguished Scholars program, the Universities Research Association through a URA Visiting Scholar award, the Riken Brookhaven Research Center, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science under Grant No. KAKEHNHI-17H02906. We thank Shoji Hashimoto, Toru Iijima, Takashi Kaneko, and Shohei Nis…
