An object-oriented development platform for transport layer protocols
Transport layer protocols have become a necessary communication element for new and classical real-time applications. The implementation of these protocols has never been structured and the designers of transport layer protocols have always developed without following any pattern. The library we have designed tries to avoid this. We propose a C++ library which could be used to develop transport layer protocols, considering every generic element inside a protocol as an object. At the end we apply the library to a well known transport layer protocol known as SNR.
Two Levels SPF-Based System to Interconnect Partially Decentralized P2P File Sharing Networks
Partially decentralized P2P (PDP2P) networks are a subset of P2P networks. Roles of nodes are different according to their functionality in the network. Nowadays, there are many PDP2P networks, with different characteristics. It is necessary to find a way to join those autonomous networks. We have not found any interconnection system, so in this article we present a new hierarchical system for interconnecting peers from different PDP2P networks. It will allow sharing data, content and resources between networks. It can be employed between sensor networks, P2P networks, and generally, overlay networks. Oldest superpeers or brokers with higher bandwidth in the PDP2P network will belong to hig…
Multimode WSN: Improving Robustness, Fault Tolerance and Performance of Randomly Deployed Wireless Sensor Network
This paper proposes an advanced, robust and flexible solution that applies the (revised) concept of Always Best Connected (ABC) Network, typical of multimode modern mobile devices, to Wireless Sensor Network. Hostile environments and unpredictable conditions (e.g. interferences) can negatively affect communication range, potentially increasing the number of unconnected nodes in random deployments. Multimode Wireless Sensor Network (MM-WSN) is provided with an adaptive mechanism for environmental condition evaluation and with the ability of self-configuring itself for optimal networking independence of detected conditions. Proposed solution is based on advanced smart nodes provided with mult…
A software tool to acquire, synchronise and playback multimedia data: an application in kinesiology
Assessing the physical condition of the human body frequently requires evaluating different tests performed by different devices. This information has to be analysed simultaneously to derive conclusions, and so a temporal relationship must be established between the data sources. In this paper, synchronisation of the sources of information is achieved by synchronising the clocks of computers connected in a Local Area Network. A clock synchronisation protocol is used and a global time is stamped in each information data flow. During analysis, the time-stamp is used to playback the data in a synchronised way. The proposed system is valid for any medical application in which data synchronisati…
