Anamorphic Projection: Analogical/Digital Algorithms
The study presents the first outcomes of a wider research dealing with the theme of “anamorphosis”, a specific technique of geometric projection of a shape on a surface. Anamorphosis represents the synthesis among geometry, art and architecture and is realized in scientific and empirical research approaches. In this study we investigated how new digital techniques allow to simplify the anamorphic applications even in case of projections on complex surfaces. Abstract During the course of “Fundamentals and applications of Science of Representation - Geometric drawing” (held at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Palermo) we successfully tested the adoption of informatics tools to enhance the comprehension and the critical analysis of complex figures in the geometrical space. Catoptric Anamorphosis on Free-Form Reflective Surfaces
Lo studio si concentra sulla definizione di una metodologia geometrica per l’impiego dell’anamorfosi catottrica nell’architettura contemporanea. Viene illustrato il particolare fenomeno proiettivo, mostrandone proprietà tipologico-geometriche, rispondenti a meccanismi di riflessione della luce. Si evidenzia che le esperienze pregresse, nel corso dei secoli, impiegano la tecnica, relegando la realizzazione esclusivamente a dispositivi riflettenti realizzati da geometrie semplici, a piccola scala e quasi esclusivamente per specchi convessi.
