Sesquiterpene compounds from Inula Viscosa
Two new compounds, 2,5-dihydroxyisocostic acid and 2,3-dihydroxycostic acid together with three known sesquiterpene compounds, Isocostic acid, Carabrone and Tomentosin, have been isolated from the acetone extract of Inula viscosa (L.) Aiton. The structures of all new compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods, in particular 1D and 2D (1)H- and (13)C-NMR. The (13)C-NMR spectra of Isocostic acid and of Tomentosin are reported here for the first time.
Sesquiterpene lactones from Centaurea sphaerocephala ssp. sphaerocephala
Abstract Aerial parts of Centaurea sphaerocephala ssp. sphaerocephala furnished sesquiterpene lactones commonly found in Centaurea species as well as a new germacranolide and a new elemadienolide.
The synthesis of nareielasie aldehyde and related lsocarbostyrils
The synthesis of several isoearboslyrils is reported, including lorrnyl derivatives at (1-4, like nareiclasie aldehyde (I) and the homologous aldehyde (XV).
8 β-hydroxyfruticolone, a diterpenoid from Teucrium fruticans
Labdane Diterpenes from Stachys plumosa
Three new labdane diterpenoids were isolated from the aerial parts of Stachys plumosa. The first two (1, 2) were the dextrorotatory enantiomers of the known 6-deoxyandalusol and 13-epijabugodiol. Structures were determined using NMR and MS techniques. The absolute stereochemistry of the third compound (3) was not experimentally proved.
