Tulevien ruotsinopettajien näkemyksiä opettajan asiantuntijuudesta

Artikkelissa käsitellään kieltenopettajiksi valmistuvien ruotsin kielen yliopisto-opiskelijoiden näkemyksiä siitä, mistä ruotsinopettajan asiantuntijuus muodostuu. Aineisto koostuu ruotsinkielisistä kirjoitelmista, joista on sisällönanalyysin keinoin etsitty aineenopettajuuteen liittyviä teemoja. Näitä on sitten verrattu Richardsin (2010) esittämiin aineenopettajan asiantuntijuuden ulottuvuuksiin. Kirjoituksissaan opettajaopiskelijat korostavat erityisesti kulttuurisen osaamisen merkitystä, oppilaiden motivointia ja oppijalähtöisyyttä. In this qualitative study the author examined personal narratives written by 14 Finnish speaking student teachers of Swedish, in order to find out what they tell about their thoughts and feelings concerning their future work as language teachers. The following three themes were in focus: firstly, what university students tell about their reasons for wanting to become teachers in the first place; secondly, what kinds of worries concerning their future work they mention in their narratives; and thirdly, how student teachers could be supported during transition from teacher education to teaching. Finländska svensklärares undervisningspraktiker och deras samband med elevers inlärningsresultat

Lärarens val av undervisningspraktiker spelar en avgörande roll för elevers inlärningsresultat. I lärarkognitionen ingår förmågan att på adekvata sätt styra och handleda elevens inlärningsprocess och utvärdera dess utgång med livslångt lärande som huvudsyfte. I artikeln kartläggs och analyseras vilka samband som finns mellan undervisningspraktiker och elevers inlärningsresultat i svenskans långa lärokurs i slutet av den grundläggande utbildningen. Materialsamplet härstammar från den finländska nationella utvärderingen från 2013 och omfattar 1679 elever och 98 lärare, vars respons genomgick en fördjupad analys. ”On ollut etuoikeus opiskella ruotsia”: yliopisto-opiskelijat pohtivat ruotsin kieltä ja sen opiskelua

Artikkelissa esitellään narratiivista tutkimusta, jossa tarkastellaan ruotsia toisena kotimaisena kielenä opiskelevien suomenkielisten ja kaksikielisten yliopisto-opiskelijoiden pohdintoja ruotsin kielestä ja sen opiskelusta. Tuloksista ilmenee, että opiskelijoilla on yleensä vahva tunneside ruotsin kieleen ja sen opiskeluun. Ruotsin kieli koetaan rakkaana ja arvokkaana, ja sitä opiskellaan päättäväisesti, vaikka mediassa ja lähipiirissäkin esiintyvät negatiiviset asenteet ruotsin opiskelua kohtaan koetaan haasteellisina. nonPeerReviewed
Agency in first-semester university students’ career plans

In this paper I examine expressions of agency in autobiographical narratives by Finnish speaking university students of Swedish. Students who write about themselves, their decisions and their career plans are simultaneously involved in (re)constructing their identities. The narratives often include references to “communities of practice” (Lave & Wenger 1991; Wenger 1998) that the students consider as significant, and whose membership they see as something worth dreaming of. These kinds of first-person stories can be regarded as important as far as identity formation is concerned (Sfard & Prusak 2005).
