In-beam test results of the Super-FRS GEM-TPC detector prototype with relativistic uranium ion beam

As an essential part of the Super-FRS particle identification, the GEM-TPC detector in a twin field-cage configuration will provide position information at up to 1 MHz counting rate with a spatial resolution 95 %. This detector is designed to provide particle-beam tracking information of projectiles ranging from protons to uranium. The performance of the GEM-TPC detector in a single field-cage configuration and newly integrated AWAGS readout electronics with a differential output was studied at the FRS for the response to the uranium beam at 850 MeV/u with intensity up to 1000 ions/spill. SARS-CoV-2 vaccination modelling for safe surgery to save lives: data from an international prospective cohort study

Abstract Background Preoperative SARS-CoV-2 vaccination could support safer elective surgery. Vaccine numbers are limited so this study aimed to inform their prioritization by modelling. Methods The primary outcome was the number needed to vaccinate (NNV) to prevent one COVID-19-related death in 1 year. NNVs were based on postoperative SARS-CoV-2 rates and mortality in an international cohort study (surgical patients), and community SARS-CoV-2 incidence and case fatality data (general population). Resumen La evaluacion clinica de la presion plantar durante la marcha se realiza tanto en cinta rodante como en pasillo de marcha. Sin embargo, las posibles diferencias en el patron de presiones plantares entre ambos medios no esta totalmente esclarecido. El objetivo del presente estudio ha sido evaluar el efecto de la cinta rodante sobre las presiones plantares a tres velocidades de marcha (lenta, media y alta). Participaron 25 sujetos sanos. Para registrar las presiones plantares se utilizo un sistema de plantillas instrumentadas Biofoot/IBV que se colocaban en un calzado deportivo estandar.
