Vulvar Epidermal Inclusion Cyst as a Long-term Complication of Female Genital Mutilation
We present a case report of a patient with epidermal inclusion cyst as a late complication of female genital mutilation (FGM). We describe the management of the patient, and a review of the literature. We report the clinical and pathological findings in a 37-year-old female patient from Nigeria, with a clitoral mass of 1 year duration. She declared to have an FGM since she was 5 years. The lesion was excised successfully with good cosmetic results. Histological examination revealed epidermal cyst with the presence of granular layer. An epidermal inclusion cyst can develop as a long-term consequence of FGM.

Resumen Las manifestaciones dermatologicas de las leucemias incluyen lesiones especificas e inespecificas (infecciones oportunistas, purpura y equimosis, sindrome de Sweet, etc.). La infiltracion de leucocitos neoplasicos en la piel se conoce como leucemia cutis, y es de especial interes el diagnostico por su implicacion pronostica. Leukemia Cutis: A Report of 17 Cases and a Review of the Literature
Dermatologic manifestations of leukemia can be both specific and nonspecific (e.g., opportunistic infections, purpura and ecchymosis, Sweet syndrome). Leukemia cutis refers to the infiltration of the skin with neoplastic leukocytes and its early diagnosis has important prognostic implications. We report on 17 cases of leukemia cutis seen in our department between 1994 and 2014 and describe the characteristics of the patients (age, sex, medical history), the morphology of the lesions, and associations with systemic disease.
