Major orchestration of shikimate, early phenylpropanoid and stilbenoid pathways by Subgroup 2 R2R3-MYBs in grapevine

AbstractThe stilbenoid pathway is responsible for the production of resveratrol and its derivatives in grapevine. A few transcription factors (TFs) have been previously identified as regulators of this pathway but the extent of this control is yet to be fully understood. Here we demonstrate how DNA affinity purification sequencing (DAP-Seq) allows for genome-wide TF binding site interrogation in a non-model species. We obtained 5,190 and 4,443 binding events assigned to 4,041 and 3,626 genes for MYB14 and MYB15, respectively (around 40% of peaks being located within -10kb of transcription start sites). DAP-Seq of MYB14 and MYB15 was combined with aggregate gene centred co-expression network…

Charge Form Factor of the Neutron at Low Momentum Transfer from theH→2(e→,e′n)H1Reaction

We report new measurements of the neutron charge form factor at low momentum transfer using quasielastic electrodisintegration of the deuteron. Longitudinally polarized electrons at an energy of 850 MeV were scattered from an isotopically pure, highly polarized deuterium gas target. The scattered electrons and coincident neutrons were measured by the Bates Large Acceptance Spectrometer Toroid (BLAST) detector. The neutron form factor ratio ${G}_{E}^{n}/{G}_{M}^{n}$ was extracted from the beam-target vector asymmetry ${A}_{\mathrm{ed}}^{V}$ at four-momentum transfers ${Q}^{2}=0.14$, 0.20, 0.29, and $0.42\text{ }\text{ }(\mathrm{GeV}/c{)}^{2}$.

Net-zero energy technical shelter

Technical shelter for storing electronic and technical equipments has high indoor heat dissipation rate, and cooling load exists almost all year around. Energy consumption of cooling system takes majority of entire energy use. Our project aims in reducing the energy consumption by proper design of building envelop and optimal control of cooling system. Both experimental measurements and computer simulation are carried out to analyze the indoor climate and energy performance of technical shelter in different conditions. The experiments are made on a standard technical shelter. Vertical temperature gradient and air flow rate are measured by thermocouples and tracer gas technology. Energy bala…

Microwave-free vector magnetometry with nitrogen-vacancy centers along a single axis in diamond

Sensing vector magnetic fields is critical to many applications in fundamental physics, bioimaging, and material science. Magnetic-field sensors exploiting nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers are particularly compelling as they offer high sensitivity and spatial resolution even at nanoscale. Achieving vector magnetometry has, however, often required applying microwaves sequentially or simultaneously, limiting the sensors' applications under cryogenic temperature. Here we propose and demonstrate a microwave-free vector magnetometer that simultaneously measures all Cartesian components of a magnetic field using NV ensembles in diamond. In particular, the present magnetometer leverages the level ant…
