Is free/total PSA predictive of pathological stage and Gleason score in patients with prostate cancer and serum PSAor=10 ng/ml?

Introduction: To evaluate whether percent free prostate-specific antigen (%-fPSA) could be predictive of pathological stage and Gleason score in patients with prostate cancer (PCa) and serum PSA of 10 ng/ml or less. Materials and Methods: In 100 patients with total PSA≤10 ng/ml who underwent radical retropubic prostatectomy as primary treatment of PCa, %-fPSA levels in organ-confined vs. non-organ-confined PCa and in patients with Gleason score ≤/>7 were compared. Results: 32 patients had an organ-confined and 68 a locally advanced PCa. Median %-fPSA level was 15%; Gleasonscore was <7 in 49 patients, equal to 7 in 40 and >7 i…

The FASER Detector

FASER, the ForwArd Search ExpeRiment, is an experiment dedicated to searching for light, extremely weakly-interacting particles at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Such particles may be produced in the very forward direction of the LHC's high-energy collisions and then decay to visible particles inside the FASER detector, which is placed 480 m downstream of the ATLAS interaction point, aligned with the beam collisions axis. FASER also includes a sub-detector, FASER$\nu$, designed to detect neutrinos produced in the LHC collisions and to study their properties. In this paper, each component of the FASER detector is described in detail, as well as the installation of the experiment system …
