Master's thesis in Mathematics education (MA502) The aim of this thesis is to examine what a teacher and a group of students in middle school look for in a good educational video. The research questions are: 1. “What does a group of students at middle school look for in a good educational video in mathematics?” 2. “What does a teacher at middle school look for in a good educational video in mathematics?”. The theoretical framework I have used in this thesis is mainly Richard Mayer's theory of multimedia learning, and his principles for how to design a multimedia instruction.
