Nanotechnologies and Radiation Processes : Online meeting (Riga, 3–4 February 2022)
The Institute of Chemical Physics of the University of Latvia held an online conference session “Nanotechnologies and Radiation Processes” on the 3rd and the 4th of February of 2022. The session was organised within the framework of the 80th International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia. The Book of Abstracts of the session focuses on such topics as energy harvesting, storage processes, development of functional materials, radiation processes in solids, growth, and fundamental studies of topological insulator nanostructures.

The proceedings represent the collection of reports in two sections of the media and communication science of 80th International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia. The first section was organized under the auspices of the research project “Risks to Democracy Caused by Disinformation and Conspiracy: Reviewing the Latvian Experience” (lzp-2019/1-0278). This project is implemented with the support of the Fundamental and Applied Project Programme by Latvian Council of Science. This abstract book is made for the Latvian-Brazilian meeting on Active and Soft Matter Physics, held on February 3, 2022. It was organized by the MMML lab (Lab of Magnetic Soft Materials) of the University of Latvia together with the Condensed Matter Physics Group of the Federal University of Ceará (Fortaleza, Brazil) as a part of the 80th International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia. It includes topical contributions from researchers working on active and soft matter physics at both research groups.

The section ‘Advanced Composites and Applications’ was organized by the Institute for Mechanics of Materials of the University of Latvia (LU MMI) on 15.02.2022 as a part of the annual 80th scientific conference of the University of Latvia. It was organized remotely in Zoom. The official language of the section was English. The duration of the presentation was 10-15 minutes. The section was devoted to the discussion of the recent results within following topics: structure and properties of polymers and polymer-based composites, long-term properties, creep, and environmental ageing, composites for advanced applications, mechanical aspects of technology, multifunctional properties.
