A series of extended tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivatives bearing one or two 1,4-dithiafulven-6-yl substitutents has been prepared. The new compounds present remarkable electrochemical singularities compared with other TTF derivatives, which are strongly affected by the nature of the substitution on the lateral heterocycle(s). This unusual electrochemical behaviour follows a square-scheme sequence and is attributed to structural changes upon oxidation of the pi-donating molecules. Electrochemical Growth and Physico-Chemical Characterization in Organic Medium of Nb2O5 Thin Films

Investigations about the energetics and the electrical properties of niobium thin film, electrochemically grown, were performed in an organic solution of acetonitrile and lithium perchlorate. The study of the energetics of the Nb2O5/organic solution interface was performed by means of a non-destructive optical technique, photocurrent spectroscopy. By means of this technique, it was possible estimating the value of the flat band potential and locating conduction and valence band. Influence of Ag, Cu dopants on the second and third harmonic response of ZnO films

International audience; Silver- and copper-doped ZnO films were prepared by radio-frequency (RF)-magnetron sputtering on glass and quartz substrates. The influence of dopants content on the microstructural evolution and optical as well as nonlinear optical (NLO) properties were investigated. It has been found that the grain sizes were enlarged with increasing of Ag, Cu dopants amount in ZnO films. The Ag or Cu doping leads to the optical band gap narrowing. Besides, the second-order NLO response of Ag- and Cu-doped ZnO films is lower than that of undoped ZnO film. ZnO Thin films doped with Erbium: Elaboration, Characterization and nonlinear optical properties measurements

In this paper, we investigate NLO properties of ZnO nanostructures for optoelectronics applications. It is shown that carefully designed and fabricated nanostructured ZnO films posses some advantageous for practical use and to generate more and short wavelengths and, when combined with TiO , produce a core–shell structure that 2 reduces the combination rate. The limitations of ZnO-based DSCs are also discussed and several possible methods are suggested in order to expand the basic knowledge of ZnO to TiO , motivating further improvement 2 in the power-conversion efficiency of third harmonic generation THG.

Quadratic nonlinear optical parameters of 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 crystal

International audience; Pure and 7% MgO-doped lithium niobate (LiNbO3) single crystals were grown by the Czochralski technique. The shift of optical absorption edge in 7% MgO-doped crystal in direction of shorter wavelength compared to undoped crystal was observed. The second harmonic generation measurements of 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 crystal were performed at room temperature by means of the rotational Maker fringe technique using Nd:YAG laser generating at 1064 nm in picoseconds regime. Experimentally obtained value of nonlinear optical coefficient d33 for 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 was found to be less than for undoped crystal but higher than for 5% MgO-doped.
