Evaluation de la pertinence dans un système de recommandation sémantique de nouvelles économiques

2014

Today in the commercial and financial sectors, staying informed about economic news is crucial and involves targeting good articles to read, because the huge amount of information. To address this problem, we propose an innovative article recommendation system, based on the integration of a semantic description of articles and on a knowledge ontological model. We support our recommendation system on an intrinsically efficient vector model that we have perfected to overcome the confusion existing in models between the concepts of similarity and relevancy that does not take into account the effects of the difference in the accuracy of the semantic descriptions precision between profiles and a…

Effects of activated carbon ageing in three PCB contaminated sediments: Sorption efficiency and secondary effects on Lumbriculus variegatus.

2015

The sorption efficiency and possible secondary effects of activated carbon (AC) (o 63-200 μm) was studied with Lumbriculus variegatus in three PCB contaminated sediments applying long AC-sediment contact time (3 years). AC amendment efficiently reduced PCB bioavailability as determined with both, L. variegatus bioaccumulation test and passive samplers. However, dose related secondary effects of AC on egestion rate and biomass were observed (applied doses 0.25% and 2.5% sediment dry weight). The sorption capacity and secondary effects remained similar when the experiments were repeated after three years of AC-sediment contact time. Further, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) samples reve…

Responses of Lumbriculus variegatus to Activated Carbon Amendments in Uncontaminated Sediments

2012

Activated carbon (AC) amendment is a recently developed sediment remediation method. The strong hydrophobic organic contaminant sorption efficiency of AC has been shown in several studies, but effects on benthic organisms require more investigation. The AC induced effects on egestion rate, growth and reproduction of Lumbriculus variegatus were studied by applying bituminous coal based AC in three different particle size fractions, namely <63 μm (90%, AC(p)), 63-200 μm (AC(m)) and 1000 μm (AC(g)), to natural uncontaminated (HS) and artificial sediment (AS). Egestion rate, growth and reproduction decreased with increasing AC concentration and finer AC particle fractions, effects being stronge…

PROFILE REFINEMENT IN ONTOLOGY-BASED RECOMMANDER SYSTEMS FOR ECONOMICAL E-NEWS

2014

International audience; This paper is interested in a recommender system of economic news articles. More precisely, it focuses on automatic profile refinement of customers which is an important task over time by taken into account logs of the user concerning especially his/her actions, reading time, and domain specific knowledge. In our approach, ontologies are used to describe and automatically refine these profiles. This work focuses on one particular type of recommender systems which is content-based recommenders. The aim of these recommender systems is to build a user profile and to improve its precision over time. Several improvements that have been made to these recommender systems ov…

Soil carbon, multiple benefits

2014

Made available in DSpace on 2018-12-11T17:24:47Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2015-01-01 In March 2013, 40 leading experts from across the world gathered at a workshop, hosted by the European Commission, Directorate General Joint Research Centre, Italy, to discuss the multiple benefits of soil carbon as part of a Rapid Assessment Process (RAP) project commissioned by Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE). This collaboration led to the publication of the SCOPE Series Volume 71 Soil Carbon: Science, Management and Policy for Multiple Benefits; which brings together the essential scientific evidence and policy opportunities regarding the global importa…

Information indexing and recommendation : toward a precise description if items by an ontological approach based on business domain modeling : applic…

2015

Effective management of large amounts of information has become a challenge increasinglyimportant for information systems. Everyday, new information sources emerge on the web. Someonecan easily find what he wants if (s)he seeks an article, a video or a specific artist. However,it becomes quite difficult, even impossible, to have an exploratory approach to discover newcontent. Recommender systems are software tools that aim to assist humans to deal withinformation overload. The work presented in this Phd thesis proposes an architecture for efficientrecommendation of news. In this document, we propose an architecture for efficient recommendationof news articles. Our ontological approach relie…

AN ONTOLOGY-BASED RECOMMENDER SYSTEM USING HIERARCHICAL MULTICLASSIFICATION FOR ECONOMICAL E-NEWS

2014

International audience; This paper focuses on a recommender system of economic news articles. Its objectives are threefold: (i) automatically multi-classify new economic articles, (ii) recommend articles by comparing profiles of users and multi-classification of articles, and (iii) managing the vocabulary of the economic news domain to improve the system based on seamlessly intervention of documentalists. In this paper we focus on the automatic multi-classification of the articles, managed by inference process of ontologies, and the enrichment of the documentalist-oriented ontology which provides the necessary capabilities to the DL reasoner for automatic multi-classification.
