Gender and Work-life balance: a contest analysis on nursey schools in Palermo
This paper reflects on the gender inequalities and their influence in the access to labor market and, on the other one, to reproductive process. Maternity and work often arise as choices excluding one another due for the inadequacy of care services. The essay reviews some laws of the last years for encourage the work-life balance and analyzes the presence of the services for children in Palermo. The chapter describes the training model of "Experts in proximity violence and its two main features: 1. the identification of training goals capable of providing specific tools, methods and skills; 2. the creation of a training-course prototype capable of integrating the proposed objectives and the relevant contents in terms of professional spendability.

This contribution, in addition to identifying some stages of the process of recognition of Intimate Partner Violence, seeks to highlight the reasons for the existing hiatus between the social rejection of violence against women and its constant escalation. The chapter describes a pilot model of training course fo "Experts in proxility violence" based on a systematic approach capable of implementing the know-how and the specific skills required to address gender and proximity violence by the professionals working in the various reception centers.
Riflessioni sul ruolo dell'assistente sociale nella presa in carico di migranti vittime di violenza di prossimità
Le autrici affrontano il problema della violenza di prossimità subita dai rifugiati / richiedenti asilo durante il loro percorso migratorio. Inoltre, riflettono sul ruolo assunto dall'assistente sociale nel cosiddetto "processo di accompagnamento" verso un percorso di sensibilizzazione, emancipazione e responsabilizzazione personale delle vittime. The authors addresses the issue of proximity violence suffered by refugees/asylum seekers during their migration path. Furthermore, they reflects on the role assumed by the social worker on the so-called “accompaniment process” towards an awareness path, emancipation and personal empowerment of the victims.
Relazioni di genere e forme di dominio simbolico. Il caso della professione dell'assistente sociale
The article highlights how the cultural models currently prevalent in some professional contexts in Italy - such as that of social workers - are still influenced by "male domination" (Bourdieu 1998). It develops a gender segregation that reproduces inequalities and asymmetries also in professional contexts traditionally female and imposes professional models based on "gender neutrality", which for the most part disregard relational and communicative skills fundamental in the care professions.
Proximity violence against women refugees and migrants in Sicily. Operators’ testimonies
The research presented in this chapter intended illustrating the practices im-plemented to foster inclusion of and support to migrants above all, female refugees/asylum seekers hosted by reception centres in Sicily . At the same time, it sought to outline some of the limits the reception system presents when it comes to supporting victims of proximity vio-lence.
