Gas chromatographic and mass spectrometric characterization of the organic acids extracted from some preparations containing lyophilized royal jelly.

2009

Thirty-five aliphatic acids were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry from the ether extract of commercial preparations containing lyophilized royal jelly. The article presents linear-programmed retention indices on capillary columns with non-polar and low-polar stationary phases and mass spectra for identified compounds which were not characterized earlier by these parameters. Nine compounds are reported for the first time as royal jelly constituents.

Gas chromatographic–mass spectrometric investigation of the chemical composition of beebread

Beebread consumption has a very long tradition; however, its composition and bioactive properties have not been studied thoroughly up to now. This study is expected to expand the knowledge of chemical composition of this bee product as a natural remedy and functional food ingredient. With the help of successive extraction with organic solvents of different polarity, more than 200 compounds were extracted from five samples of beebread and then identified by GC-MS method. The content of some phenol compounds (p-coumaric acid, kaempherol, isorhamnetin) with antioxidant properties has been determined quantitatively. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir novērtēt Tirzas pagasta un Pierīgas avotu ķīmisko un bioloģisko kvalitāti. Avotu ķīmiskās un bioloģiskās kvalitāte novērtēšanai tika veiktas avotu ūdeņu ķīmiskās un bakterioloģiskās analīzes. Avotu ūdens ķīmiskais sastāvs tika novērtēts pēc MK noteikumos Nr.235 noteiktās elementu robežkoncentrācijas un salīdzināts ar pārdošanā esošo galda un minerālūdeni. Avotu ūdens bakterioloģiskā kvalitāte tika novērtēta pēc MK noteikumos Nr.634 noteiktajām alohtonās un autohtonās mikrofloras robežkoncentrācijām avotu ūdeņiem.
