Objective: The current report provides detail on pooled analyses assessing the effect of laquinimod on relapse, disability, and brain atrophy measures from the recently completed phase III trials ALLEGRO and BRAVO. Background Laquinimod is an oral, CNS acting immunomodulator in development for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Its impact on disability progression and brain atrophy, two indices of longterm outcome for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) are being studied in its phase III trials. The potential of serum neurofilament as biomarker for multiple sclerosis

Abstract Multiple sclerosis is a highly heterogeneous disease, and the detection of neuroaxonal damage as well as its quantification is a critical step for patients. Blood-based serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) is currently under close investigation as an easily accessible biomarker of prognosis and treatment response in patients with multiple sclerosis. Background and purpose: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex disease of the central nervous system. As new drugs are becoming available, knowledge on diagnosis and treatment must continuously evolve. There is therefore a need for a reference tool compiling current data on benefit and safety, to aid professionals in treatment decisions and use of resources across Europe.
