Obiettivi: lo scopo dello studio è stato quello di rilevare la ”customer satisfaction” nella ristorazione ospedaliera di pazienti ricoverati in due strutture pubbliche (Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Policlinico e Presidio Ospedaliero Asl 6) ed in un Presidio Ospedaliero privato di Palermo, valutandone le differenze anche in relazione alla diversa tipologia di preparazione dei pasti, con “cucina centralizzata”, nel pubblico, ed “in loco”, nel privato. Metodi: l’indagine è stata realizzata con questionario a risposta multipla mediante intervista diretta, somministrato a 207 pazienti, su 227 presenti, che hanno collaborato all’inchiesta. Influenza vaccination among healthcare workers and absenteeism from work due to influenza-like illness in a teaching hospital in Palermo

<p><strong>Background</strong>: Annual flu vaccination of healthcare workers (HCWs) is recommended worldwide as the best way to prevent influenza and to avoid its transmission. However, in several European Countries, vaccination rate among HCWs is still less than 25%. The aim of this study was to determine the HCW vaccination coverage during a three year period in a large University Hospital, identifying socio demographic and occupational variables involved in the decision to accept influenza vaccination. The purpose of this study is to analyze the appeals against a "suitability judgment for work" lodged to the U.O.S. "Health Prevention and Occupational Epidemiology Operative Unit" of Department of Prevention and Safety in the Working Environment within the ASP Palermo (U.O.S.), from 2008 to 2010. Studying the appeals gives an indirect view on the occupational physician activity and allows to monitor their actions, analysis aims at highlighting those issues around which any planning and implementation of coordination activities should be focused. © PI-ME, Pavia 2012.
