: Nel saggio viene illustrato il restauro, compiuto all'inizio del Novecento, del castello di Mussomeli (CL) secondo il progetto e la direzione dei lavori di Ernesto Armò. Il saggio ripercorre l'iter metodologico seguito dall'Armò per giungere alla conservazione del castello trecetesco della famiglia Chiaramonte e successivamente della famiglia Lanza Branciforti. Particolare rilevanza riveste l'analisi dei principi che sottendevano l'intervento, tecniche e materiali utilizzati, anche alla luce delle posizioni culturali delle norme sul Restauro esistenti all'epoca dell'intervento realizzato da Ernesto Armò.
