Análisis Estructural del conocimiento didáctico del contenido científico escolar en futuros maestros de primaria
Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) in science is the specific professional knowledge of a teacher, which characterizes and differentiates this type of professional from other science-based professionals. Recent research at an international level shows certain diversity in its definition by experts and also in their suggested composition. This diversity has generated a multiplicity of instruments for assessing PCK. It seems convenient to explore whether or not this variety of proposals hides a convergent underlying and steady structure. If this conceptual structure existed, it could be revealed in empirical studies, confirming or rejecting experts' criteria. As the construct of PCK is so co…
Predicting Word Maturity from Frequency and Semantic Diversity: A Computational Study
Semantic word representation changes over different ages of childhood until it reaches its adult form. One method to formally model this change is the word maturity paradigm. This method uses a text sample for each age, including adult age, and transforms the samples into a semantic space by means of Latent Semantic Analysis. The representation of a word at every age is then compared with its adult representation via computational maturity indices. The present study used this paradigm to explore to the impact of word frequency and semantic diversity on maturation indices. To do this, word maturity indices were extracted from a Spanish incremental corpus and validated, using correlation scor…
Development and Validation of the AdT-Physio Scale: A Tool to Assess Adherence and Perception of Physical Therapist Intervention in Patients With Cystic Fibrosis.
Abstract Objective The purpose of this study was to develop a scale to measure patient adherence to physical therapist intervention and to report psychometric properties in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Methods This observational, multicenter, qualitative, and cross-sectional study was divided into 2 phases: development of scale items (content validity) and assessment of psychometric properties (construct validity, reliability, and convergent/discriminant validity). Recruited were 121 patients with CF (aged ≥16 years). Sociodemographic characteristics, lung function testing, Coping with Stress Self-Efficacy, brief Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced inventory, and the scale of …
