Heavy-light mesons in the epsilon-regime

We study the finite-size scaling of heavy-light mesons in the static limit. We compute two-point functions of chiral current densities as well as pseudoscalar densities in the epsilon-regime of heavy meson Chiral Perturbation Theory (HMChPT). As expected, finite volume dependence turns out to be significant in this regime and can be predicted in the effective theory in terms of the infinite-volume low-energy couplings. These results might be relevant for extraction of heavy-meson properties from lattice simulations.

One Loop Efects of Non-Standard Gauge Boson Vertices

Low energy effects of generic extensions of the Standard Model can be comprehensively parametrized in terms of higher dimensional effective operators. After the success of all the recent precission tests on the Standard Model, we argue that any sensible description of these extensions at the Z-scale must be stable under higher order quantum corrections. The imposition of SU(2)L×U(1)Y gauge invariance seems to be the simplest and most natural way to fulfill this requirement. With this assumption, all the possible deviations from the standard triple gauge boson vertices can be consistently parametrized in terms of a finite set of gauge invariant operators. We deal here with those operators th…

Standard Model CP-violation and Baryon Asymmetry. Part 2: Finite temperature

We consider the scattering of quasi-particles off the boundary created during a first order electroweak phase transition. Spatial coherence is lost due to the quasi-quark damping rate, and we show that reflection on the boundary is suppressed, even at tree-level. Simply on CP considerations, we argue against electroweak baryogenesis in the Standard Model via the charge transport mechanism. A CP asymmetry is produced in the reflection properties of quarks and antiquarks hitting the phase boundary. An effect is present at order α2W in rate and a regular GIM behaviour is found, which can be expressed in terms of two unitarity triangles. A crucial role is played by the damping rate of quasi-par…
