A falta de adesão ao tratamento e a consequente falta de controle da hipertensão arterial (HA) representam um grande desafio à Atenção Primária no Brasil. Compreender a relação subjetiva dos portadores de HA com a enfermidade pode ampliar as possibilidades de medidas de controle da HA mais efetivas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi conhecer e analisar as representações sociais de mulheres portadoras de HA sobre a doença e seu convívio familiar.
