NMR and $��^{+}$SR detection of unconventional spin dynamics in Er(trensal) and Dy(trensal) molecular magnets
Measurements of proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) spectra and relaxation and of Muon Spin Relaxation ($��^{+}$SR) have been performed as a function of temperature and external magnetic field on two isostructural lanthanide complexes, Er(trensal) and Dy(trensal) featuring crystallographically imposed trigonal symmetry. Both the nuclear 1/T1 and muon $��$ longitudinal relaxation rates, LRR, exhibit a peak for temperatures T lower than 30K, associated to the slowing down of the spin dynamics, and the width of the NMR absorption spectra starts to increase significantly at T ca. 50K, a temperature sizably higher than the one of the LRR peaks. Spin dynamics in the single-ion magnet [Er(W5O18)2]9−
In this work we present a detailed NMR and ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\mathrm{SR}$ investigation of the spin dynamics in the new hydrated sodium salt containing the single-ion magnet ${[\mathrm{Er}{({\mathrm{W}}_{5}{\mathrm{O}}_{18})}_{2}]}^{9\ensuremath{-}}$. The $^{1}\mathrm{H}\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{NMR}$ absorption spectra at various applied magnetic fields present a line broadening on decreasing temperature which indicates a progressive spin freezing of the single-molecule magnetic moments. Band filling effect on polaron localization in La$_{1-x}($Ca$_y$Sr$_{1-y}$)$_{x}$MnO$_3$ manganites
We report on an a $\mu$SR and $^{55}$Mn NMR investigation of the magnetic order parameter as a function of temperature in the optimally doped La$_{5/8}$(Ca$_y$Sr$_{1-y}$)$_{3/8}$MnO$_3$ and in the underdoped La$_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$MnO$_3$ and La$_{1-x}$Ca$_{x}$MnO$_3$ metallic manganite families. The study is aimed at unraveling the effect of lattice distortions, implicitly controlled by the Ca-Sr isoelectronic substitution, from that of hole doping $x$ on the Curie temperature $T_c$ and the order of the magnetic transition. Vascular risk factors in glaucoma: The results of a national survey
Background The role of vascular risk factors in glaucoma is still being debated. To assess the importance of vascular risk factors in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), data from the medical history of 2,879 POAG patients and 973 age-matched controls were collected and analyzed.
