Depletion of cytosolic GSH decreases the ATP levels and viability of synaptosomes from aged mice but not from young mice
The effect of glutathione depletion on the viability of freshly isolated synaptosomes from whole brain was investigated in young and aged mice. Aging did not influence the GSH and ATP levels and the viability of these synaptosomes. However depletion of glutathione caused by the cytosolic glutathione inhibitor diethyl maleate (1 mM) resulted in a significant decline, after 60 min of incubation, in ATP levels and viability in the synaptosomes from aged mice but not in those from young mice. Family-student balance: a qualitative study about limitations of university mothers
The balance between family and student life, viewed as the possibility of being a mother and university student at the same time, is still not seen as something usual in higher education. This leads to discrimination against student mothers compared with other students. In this study, using a qualitative, narrative-based methodology based on semi-structured interviews, we analysed the beliefs and attitudes of a total of 73 university students. La presencialidad obligatoria en Educación Superior y el creciente número de estudiantes con compromisos familiares justifican la necesidad de conocer las opiniones del alumnado con respecto a la conciliación estudiantil-familiar en el contexto universitario. Se adopta una metodología cualitativa mediante narrativas. Participan de la investigación 27 estudiantes de la Universitat de València y 46 de la Universidad de Alicante, del Grado en Maestro de Educación Primaria.
