The presence of moisturizing substances and lipid substances determines the integrity of the epidermis cells and their barrier functions because it protects the interior of the body against environmental changes: temperature, humidity, ultraviolet radiation, pollution, and the effects of detergents. In this study, we performed a non-invasive, preliminary evaluation of the effects of a biphasic facial skin care product containing plant oils, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and panthenol on skin hydration levels and transepidermal water loss compared to a control group using only shea butter.
