Experimental BIM applications in Archaeology: a work-flow

In the last few decades various conceptual models, methods and techniques have been studied to allow 3D digital access to Cultural Heritage (CH). Among these is BIM (Building Information Modeling): originally built up for construction projects, it has been already experimented in the CH domain, but not enough in the archaeological field. This paper illustrates a framework to create 3D archaeological models integrated with databases using BIM. Over the last few years topographical techniques have developed an exponential trend towards simplifying and speeding, both survey operations and analysis of data collected reaching at the same time ever higher levels of accuracy. Long-term earthquake potential of active faults by using coastal and off-shore geological and morphological indicators

Seismogenic fault models and active deformation ones coupled with models of both earthquake rate and earthquake probability were recently used in a time-independent modelling. The integration of models allows to estimates the magnitude, location, and likelihood of potentially damaging earthquake ruptures in regions with high natural seismic hazard. Improvements of these models imply the recognition of the spatial geometry of the larger, active faults, deemed to be the source of the most damaging future earthquakes. Il lavoro qui presentato consiste in un rilievo integrato (Topografico/GPS statico/NRTK/Laser Scanner) di un piccolo contesto extraurbano siciliano, Borgo Schirò, noto per le vicende storiche che portarono alla sua costruzione a seguito dell’emanazione della legge n.1 del 2 gennaio 1940, per il superamento del latifondo.
