Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation in Mantle Cell Lymphoma; Insights into Its Potential Role in the Era of New Immunotherapeutic and Targeted Therapies : The GETH/GELTAMO Experience

Simple Summary We present the long-term results of patients receiving allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) for relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma (R/R MCL) in the last 25 years in Spain. We conclude that allo-SCT may be a curative option in R/R MCL with a low cumulative incidence (CI) of relapse, although non-relapse mortality (NRM) is still high, which is mainly secondary to acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD). Results are better for fit patients, using HLA-identical (related or unrelated) or haploidentical related donors and without previous ASCT. However, the arrival of new highly effective and low toxic immunotherapeutic or targeted therapies inevitably will relegat…

Lack of association between the kinetics of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) glycoprotein B (gB)-specific and neutralizing serum antibodies and development or recovery from HCMV active infection in patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplant

The kinetics of the gB-specific and neutralizing antibody responses to human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) were analyzed in 26 allogeneic stem-cell transplant recipients who either did (n = 20) or did not (n = 6) develop asymptomatic HCMV active infection during the study period. Antibody response profiles varied widely among individuals in both groups, irrespective of whether HCMV active infection did or did not occur. Development of HCMV active infection was not preceded by a decline in functional serum antibody levels. Neither the absence nor the presence of HCMV active infection correlated with either high or low serum levels of gB-specific and neutralizing antibodies, respectively. In most pa…

Calibration of a camera-projector monochromatic system

Camera–projector systems are increasingly being used in many different applications, including object reconstruction. In recent years, a number of approaches have been proposed to calibrate such devices; in this paper a calibration method is presented which can be used with monochromatic systems. The method is based on open-source code, makes use of planar calibration patterns, is fully automatic, easy to use and fast. Additionally, no initial information regarding the camera interior orientation is needed, and both sensors (camera and projector) are fully calibrated during the process. The method is validated by a series of tests, where root mean square errors (RMSEs) in image space are ke…
