Master's thesis in Mathematics education (MA502) Modeling is a mathematical skill that connects mathematics to the real world. Mathematical modeling has been a part of the new curriculum, LK20. Modeling will therefore get an extra attention in the teaching the mathematical competence of modeling. This is challenging for both teachers and students, and one of the reasons that it has not been prioritized in teaching mathematics. To teach modeling it requires good tasks to use in the classroom that challenge students on all level.
