Within the COVID-19 pandemic context, the WHO has proposed a list of medicines to treat patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2). An analysis of their ocular side effects was performed. Only chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine were found to have an ocular impact in the medium and long-term. Detailed search strategies were performed in EMBASE, MEDLINE, SCOPUS and WOS Core Collection. Additionally, the worldwide ongoing clinical trials including chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine were evaluated, and their proposals of drug administration and exclusion criteria analyzed. Pupil size differences between female and male patients after cataract surgery.
Purpose To evaluate the changes in pupil diameter in women and men after cataract surgery. The correlation of pupillary changes with the variables age and anterior chamber depth will be analyzed. Methods The values of 109 randomized eyes who underwent cataract surgery were obtained and divided into two groups, 71 women and 38 men. Pupil diameter was measured preoperatively and 3-months postoperatively using the pupillometer software of the Topolyzer Vario (Wavelight Laser Technologie AG). What is the opinion of the family doctors on the optometry consultations of the Navarre Health Service?
Esta carta crea un precedente en España, ya que por primera vez se muestra la percepción que tienen los médicos de familia sobre las tres consultas de optometría abiertas en el Servicio Navarro de Salud (Osasunbidea), transcurridos 10 años de la creación de la primera de ellas en 2006. Teniendo en cuenta que no todas las comunidades autónomas cuentan con estas consultas implementadas en el sistema sanitario, consideramos que este servicio es fundamental ponerlo en marcha y desarrollarlo en el resto de comunidades, para ofrecer al paciente una mejor atención primaria.
