Search for the $$ mesic $^3$He in the $pd\rightarrow d p ^{0}$ reaction with the WASA-at-COSY facility

2020

The excitation function for the $pd\rightarrow$ $d p ^{0}$ reaction has been measured by WASA-at-COSY experiment with the aim of searching for $^{3}\hspace{-0.03cm}\mbox{He}$-$$ mesic nuclei. The measurement in the vicinity of $$ meson production was performed using a ramped proton beam. The data analysis and interpretation was carried out with the assumption that the $$-mesic Helium decays via the formation of an intermediate N$^{*}$(1535) resonance. No direct signal of the $$-mesic nucleus is observed in the excitation function. We determine a new improved upper limit for the total cross section for the bound state production and decay in the $pd\rightarrow$ $(^{3}\hspace{-0.03c…

Study of meson production in nuclei near threshold

2009

We present a study of the η production at low energies in pd collision with 3He and pd nuclear systems in the final state. The η production mechanism is described by a two-step model and the final state interactions are included fully. The η - d and η - 3He final state interactions are incorporated through the solution of the Lippmann Schwinger equation for a half off-shell η - AT-matrix. For η - d this t -matrix is written in a factorized form, with an off-shell form factor multiplying an on-shell part having the scattering length representation. The p - d final state interaction is included by multiplying the production matrix element by the inverse of the Jost function which includes th…

Coherent pion production in neutrino nucleus collision in the 1 GeV region

1996

We calculate cross sections for coherent pion production in nuclei induced by neutrinos and antineutrinos of the electron and muon type. The analogies and differences between this process and the related ones of coherent pion production induced by photons, or the (p,n) and $(^3 He, t)$ reactions are discussed. The process is one of the several ones occurring for intermediate energy neutrinos, to be considered when detecting atmospheric neutrinos. For this purpose the results shown here can be easily extrapolated to other energies and other nuclei.

Study of thepd→pdηreaction

2007

A study of the pd{yields}pd{eta} reaction in the energy range where the recent data from Uppsala are available is done in the two-step model of {eta} production including the final state interaction. The {eta}-d final state interaction is incorporated through the solution of the Lippmann Schwinger equation using an elastic scattering matrix element, T{sub {eta}}{sub d{yields}}{sub {eta}}{sub d}, which is required to be half off-shell. It is written in a factorized form, with an off-shell form factor multiplying an on-shell part given by an effective range expansion up to the fourth power in momentum. The parameters of this expansion have been taken from an existing recent relativistic Fadde…
