New Solution for Telescopic Robotic Arm

This paper deals with a Robotic arm actuated by a monomobil telescopic planetary gear and servo DC motor. Experimental model of robot was designed and manufactured at the Faculty of Engineering from Sibiu, (Patent no. 112418 CI6.B25J 18/02). The Servo DC as actuator drives a reel. Wires on the reel will produce displacement of telescopic modules from robotic arm structure. The reference as a voltage for future arm displacement is provided by a PWM generator. The rotation of the reel in one way or another has the effect of lengthening or shortening robotic arm. Robotic arm length is directly related to the PWM signal. Control of robotic arm positioning is done with a linear transducer.

Using the Microcontroller and the PLC in a RPP Robot Control

This paper presents some aspects regarding the possibility of combining microcontroller and programmable logic controller (PLC) for robot control. The RPP robot is designed and manufactured within the Faculty of Engineering from “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu, as a patent: BRAŢ TELESCOPIC, Nr. 112418 B1, Int.CI.6 B 25 J 18/02, from 17.02.1997. Classical systems for programming and control of industrial robot are based on numerical control equipment, developed around a PC. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) haves proven to be viable alternatives to driving machine tools, industrial systems and Robots. Microcontrollers as computers offer advantage due to programmable inputs and outputs …

MINIMIZING COSTS UNDER CONSTRAINTS

Abstract The present paper deals with the costs the production of goods and services involves in the conditions of a company's struggle to keep those costs as low as possible in order to afford competitive prices on various markets. Several types of constraints emerge which compel the management to consume resources, for instance financial resources, in order to respond to constraints. This is the case with protection equipment or environmental requirements and pollution prevention.

PRODUCTION FLEXIBILITY AND ADAPTING TO MARKET CHANGES

Abstract This paper describes those situations when a company, an organization, in its search for minimum costs, including those involved by investment, and production flexibility, manages to adapt to those changes that ensure survival on the market. Economies of scale are an attraction for any firm and thus globalized, huge firms emerge, conquering continuously developing markets. However, smaller firms face market changes that are usually dangerous in terms of sustainability. The paper highlights those market components that provide information on adapting production through flexibility.
