Vittorio Ugo (Palermo, 1938-2005) is an Italian architect, known mostly in Italy and France as theorist and critic. Whereas, much less known is his architectural work as author of projects on different scales: architecture, urban-planning, design, which Ugo himself, later on, would have considered as a pastime of his young age. In his practice of architecture, the author of the article see, on the contrary, the roots of his theoretical thought. Disegnata dal frate Giuseppe Mariani, la villa-palazzo di Luigi Naselli, Principe di Aragona, fu edificata nella seconda decade del Settecento. Attraverso una originale indagine archivistica la monografia ricostruisce le fasi della sua edificazione, le trasformazioni, l'importante passaggio di proprietà ai Filangeri di Cutò nel 1803, i rifacimenti intervenuti nelle sale interne tra la metà dell'Ottocento e i primi del Novecento, i rapporti con il fenomeno più ampio dell'architettura delle ville. En 1916, Cornelius Gurlitt - historien allemand d’architecture qui a beaucoup contribué à la réévaluation de l’art baroque - travaillait à la seconde édition de son «Histoire du Baroque en Italie».
