Un diagnostic archéologique réalisé en 2010 à l’emplacement de la « vieille église » de Champagnole, aujourd’hui disparue, a donné l’occasion de documenter cet édifice . Selon une tradition locale, la première église de Champagnole aurait été érigée aux ve-vie siècles, comme beaucoup d’autres édifices cultuels du Jura, sur une hauteur au nord-ouest de la ville et en bordure de la route reliant la ville à Poligny. The beaker phenomenon and the Genomic transformations of Northwest Europe

Bell Beaker pottery spread across western and central Europe beginning around 2750 BCE before disappearing between 2200–1800 BCE. The mechanism of its expansion is a topic of long-standing debate, with support for both cultural diffusion and human migration. We present new genome-wide ancient DNA data from 170 Neolithic, Copper Age and Bronze Age Europeans, including 100 Beaker-associated individuals. The recent discovery of three horse shaped fibulae – a pair with a cavalryman from Ecrille in the Jura and a fibula from the La Chambre sector in Savoie as well as a bird shaped fibula from Charpey in the Drome, all dating from the second half of the 5th century or around 500 AD, provide valuable references in the context of the Burgundian settlement in the Centre-East and the South-East of Gaul. The map is still incomplete notably for the area to the south of Lyon, precisely where La Chambre and Charpey are located. Relating to the Ecrille discovery, it provides new information in relation to this defended site underlining its importance.

This merovingian establishment discovered during an archaeological evaluation to the west of the town of Delle in the Belfort territory is located on the Batte hillside about 300 m from the large Gallo-roman domain on the opposite slope of the valley. This settlement is characterised by a large edifice built of stone and perishable materials, which replaces a timber framed building. The building covers 230 m2 and vestiges of the floors, partitions and interior fittings are preserved which is rare for the period. The Pratz le Curtillet settlement

Among the earliest habitats of the early Middle Ages studied in Franche-Comté, the Pratz le Curtillet a settlement sets itself apart by its location in the Jura highlands, renowned for its remoteness and inhospitable landscapes. On the Lizon plateau, the scope of the archaeological work explored on the 16 hectares and the quality of the remains still constitute an exceptional complex today. An imposing 16m by 13m stone building flanked by an annex forms the residential part of the estate, while sheltering fodder and livestock, while the second building houses a forge. Accroché au flanc du Jura, avec un panorama imprenable sur le lac Léman et la chaîne des Alpes, l’éperonbarré de Châtel d’Arruffens est l’un des sites emblématiques de Suisse occidentale. Lieu stratégique et de prestige à l’âge du Bronze, il est réinvesti dans l’Antiquité tardive. De nouvelles investigations associées à un réexamen des collections anciennes offrent un éclairage inédit, loin du mythe des « sites-refuges » qui a longtemps caractérisé les occupations perchées de cette période.

The recent Neolithic site of Forlen in Geispolsheim, attributed to the recent Munzingen, has yielded a series of enclosures containing ceramic forms unprecedented in the context of Munzingen B. We have detected the influence of late productions by the Pfyn culture and propose the identification of a new stage in the recent Munzingen, which we have unoriginally named Munzingen C, and is typified by the appearance of ceramic forms with rounded profiles. This episode may date from around 3650-3550 BC, a late dating that has been confirmed by two carbon 14 tests. L’année 2012 marque le lancement du Projet Collectif de Recherche sur les Agglomérations antiques de Bourgogne, Franche-Comté et Champagne méridionale porté par l’UMR 6249 – Chrono-Environnement. Après validation du programme de recherche par la Commission Inter-Régionale de l’Archéologie, le Service Régional de l’Archéologie de Franche-Comté a accepté de soutenir le premier triennal de ce projet transrégional. Trente-quatre personnes, issues de divers horizons institutionnels, se sont officiellement engagées à collaborer au projet.

Joyau des débuts de l'architecture romane jurassienne, l'église de Saint-Hymetière se dresse à l'écart du village actuel, dans l'ample vallon de la Valouse (fig. 1). Entouré d'un cimetière clos d'un mur, l'édifice comprend une nef à trois vaisseaux, un transept débordant et un chevet primitif à trois absides semi-circulaires. À la croisée du transept, un clocher octogonal s'élève depuis une souche carrée, offrant à cet édifice une silhouette particulière. Des baies romanes et un décor originel de lésènes ornent l'édifice ; ce décor d'arcature est caractéristique des débuts de l'architecture romane, daté avant 1050...
