Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is characterized by a symmetric hypokinetic syndrome with early falls and vertical supranuclear gaze palsy. However, clinically asymmetric manifestations occur, resembling idiopathic Parkinson disease or corticobasal degeneration.
