Styrol kann mit linearen Lithiumalkylen in aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen bei tiefen Temperaturen stereospezifisch polymerisiert werden; mit verzweigten Lithiumalkylen entstehen dagegen nur ataktische Polymerisate. Es wird angenommen, das die stereospezifische Polymerisation von Assoziaten der lithiumorganischen Verbindungen aus initiiert wird. Styrene can be polymerized stereospecifically by linear lithium alkyls at low temperatures, using branched lithium alkyls, however, only atactic polymers are obtained. It is suggested that the stereospezific polymerisation is initiated by associations of the lithium organic compounds.
