New insights on the occurrence and conservation status in Italy of Alessioporus ichnusanus (Boletaceae), an IUCN red listed mycorrhizal species

The conservation status of Alessioporus ichnusanus is discussed considering new insights emerged from the IUCN global assessment. New locations were identified and Italy is confirmed as the center of distribution of this species. According to the IUCN categories and criteria, A. ichnusanus is assigned to the category Vulnerable C2a(i).

Management of allergic disease in the elderly: key considerations, recommendations and emerging therapies

The number of people over 65 is increasing around the world. At present, between 5 and 10% of allergic diseases affect the elderly. In particular, rhinitis is increasing worldwide; the presence of high comorbidity makes the therapy of asthma even more complicated. With reference to dermatological allergies, the dryness of the skin favors the onset of allergic contact and atopic dermatitis, while the senescence of mucous membranes and the impaired secretion of polymeric IgA could be linked to food allergy. International audience; Large differences in COVID-19 death rates exist between countries and between regions of the same country. Some very low death rate countries such as Eastern Asia, Central Europe, or the Balkans have a common feature of eating large quantities of fermented foods. Although biases exist when examining ecological studies, fermented vegetables or cabbage have been associated with low death rates in European countries.
