The Rodło Archive collection is one of the most valuable collections in the Library of the University of Opole. Some of the documents date back to the first years of the Union’s of Poles in Germany activity. It was the Polish organization in Germany, existing since 1922.The Archive was established on the initiative of Edmund Osmańczyk (Polish journalist, political scientist and politician, activist of the Polish minority in Germany ) and his assistant Helena Lehr. The time limit of the Archive is 1960 / 1970–1990. In 1999, the resource was donated to the University of Opole by Helena Lehr. Since then, it has been stored and made available in the reading room of the UO Main Library. Archival materials are divided into series. There is an extensive collection of press clippings, photographs, magazines and books. The materials were collected in 332 folders. Series I: personal files. Among them, you can find the names of people representing individual districts: activists, teachers, representatives of the Polish Scouting Association, sports societies, editors, as well as people repressed by the German Reich. Series II: 130 files. They relate to the socio-cultural activity of the Union's members. Separate folders concern important events and places related to the Polish national movement. Series III: Edmund Osmańczyk's collection, including 44 files. We can find here author's materials and manuscripts, typescripts, biographical materials, materials related to parliamentary and journalistic activities, personal correspondence and materials about the author.
