Il lavoro esamina le diverse fasi di costruzione della chiesa e del complesso monastico di santa Maria Maddalena di Corleone, importante centro dell’entroterra siciliano, soffermandosi in particolare all’età moderna. Le inedite fonti archivistiche indagate oltre ad individuare le maestranze impegnate nei lavori fanno emergere importanti artisti. Successivamente si passa all’individuazione delle opere d’arte sacra ancora esistenti mai indagate scientificamente e raccolte insieme per la prima volta. This work examines the different phases of construction of the church and the monastic complex of Santa Maria Maddalena of Corleone, an important centre in the Sicilian hinterland, focusing in particular on the modern age. The unpublished archival sources investigated, as well as identifying the workers involved in the work, make important artists come to light. Subsequently, it moves on to the identification of the still existing works of sacred art, never scientifically investigated and collected together for the first time.
