Master's thesis in Global Development and Planning (UT506) This paper highlights how the municipality of Bømlo, plans for sustainable development and what challenges they meet in the planning process. With knowledge from theories of planning and empirical data gathered by qualitative method, document analysis and observation, this paper seeks answers. The global climate challenges are more obvious than ever, and the global community through UN, has responded. Before the year2050 Norway will reach the two degrees Celsius target, by reducing CO2 emissions and turn around the society of today into a low-emission society.
