Scoliosis Research Society questionnaire version 30 (SRS-30) has originally been developed to measure disability and health related quality of life in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis but it has proven valid also in adults with degenerative spinal disease. Degenerative spine disease has many phases and manifestations including disc degeneration, spondylarthrosis, spondylolistheses and compromise to neural tissue. The aim of this study was to test whether the SRS-30 questionnaire is valid in adults with different sources of pain: local back pain, radicular pain or their combination. Structural analysis of the SRS-30 and comparison with RAND-36 and ODI was performed. The deformity specific SRS-30 proved applicable to all adult patients with a degenerative spine condition regardless of the source of pain. nonPeerReviewed
