Las personas mayores gays, lesbianas, bisexuales y transexuales en centros residenciales: la invisibilidad

El trabajo que se expone a continuación pretende acercarse al conocimiento de un tema relativamente nuevo que empieza a mostrar su cara. Se trata, además, de un asunto controvertido y del que existe un gran desconocimiento. Es el de las personas mayores gays, lesbianas, bisexuales y transexuales (en adelante GLBT) que viven en centros residenciales. Son múltiples los estudios realizados en torno al tema de la vejez, pero escasos o casi inexistentes aquellos que hacen referencia a las personas mayores homosexuales. La realidad de estas personas es una incógnita incluso para las propias asociaciones de gays, lesbianas, bisexuales y transexuales, cuanto más para el resto de la sociedad. Dada la situación de vulnerabilidad en que puede encontrarse este colectivo y, especialmente aquellos que se ven en la necesidad de ingresar en centros residenciales, consideramos necesario abordar esta cuestión con la finalidad de que los resultados obtenidos puedan servir de base a la realización de otros estudios que contribuyan a mejorar la calidad de vida de este colectivo. Para confirmar las hipótesis de partida de este trabajo se realizarán entrevistas en profundidad con informantes clave, ya que no ha sido posible hacerlo con las personas directamente afectadas. Fue el personal técnico de las residencia quién valoró que no era adecuado por respeto a la decisión de las personas de no manifestar su orientación sexual. The work that exposes to continuation pretends to approach to the knowledge of a relatively new subject that begins to show his face. It treats , besides, of a controversial subject and of the that exists a big ignorance. It is the one of the greater people gays, lesbian, bisexuales and transexuales (from now on GLBT) that live in residential centres. They are multiple the studies made around the subject of the old age, but scarce or almost non-existent those that do reference to the homosexual greater people. The reality of these people is an incógnita even for the own associations of gays, lesbian, bisexuales and transexuales, what more for the rest of the society. Given the situation of vulnerability in that it can find this community and, especially those that see in the need of ingresar in residential centres, consider necessary to tackle this question with the purpose that the results obtained can serve of base to the realisation of other studies that contribute to improve the quality of life of this community. To confirm the hypotheses of game of this work will make glimpsed in depth with key informants, since it has not been possible to do it with the directly affected people. It was the technical personnel of the residence who valued that it was not adapted by respect to the decision of the people of not manifesting his sexual orientation.
