The growing importance of education in the life of modern society causes that we more often pay attention to the aspect of educating teachers and the axiological issues connected with that. What is more, the need of re-reading and re-searchingfor universal values, which are strongly ingrained in the humanistic tradition, is perceived. The issue undertaken by the author is connected with educating teachers in Poland mainly in the aspect of axiology.
