description

International audience; We explore the relationship between educational pathways and labour market entry with vignette study. We stimulate a hiring process with a sample of recruiters and we analyze the role of schooling discontinuities in the screening of applicant resumes. Applicant may follow di fferent pathways: some of them are graduated on time, others face delay because they had a job or because they traveled abroad. Then, we analyze the determinants of employers' preferences with regressions: the likelihood to hire the candidate is used as dependent variable. We show that temporary schooling interruption has a negative effect on recruiters rating if applicant do not specify the reason. However, it seems that traveling abroad during the interruption has a positive and significant effect. As we supposed, schooling discontinuities don't always have a negative effect and it's important to take into account the experiences during the interruptions.
