[EN] The purpose of this contribution is to encourage the implementation of an active and cooperative methodology, Service Learning (SL). Therefore, on the basis of the thirteen transversal skills that undergraduates of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) currently have to acquire in the different degrees, the paper outlines how to develop these skills through the SL learning process. Specifically, for this analysis, seven of these skills are taken in account: Knowledge of Contemporary Problems; Design and Project; Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship; Planning and Time Management; Effective Communication; Teamwork and Leadership; and Comprehension and Integration. These skills are analyzed and connected, comparing them with the components and phases of SL, and explaining how they could be implemented and apprehended. To conclude, some considerations and examples are presented on how the application of SL projects is a reality in Spanish universities.
