Abstract Evidences of trade & merchant communities in Indus Valley civilizations are available from that is 3500 BC. Being important trading destination in world map Indian Bazaars played major role in generating economic means for common man. Spices, grain, cotton, sugar, Indigo these were some of important trading goods exported all over world. Traditional Bazaar, Bazaarpeths/ wards, Market squares are most happening places in historic towns of India. Their accessibility, openness, Flexibility, Meandering surprises, colors, and crowd pertains its own character. These are most flexible & organic setups evolved over the period of time responding to political, economical & cultural setup of that place. Peth, Ganj, Ali, Katta generally referred to variety of Bazaar roads or areas. Kasba or Market town is very common terminology used in most of the parts of India. As per the means of transportation & patronage, importance of Kasba towns increased & decreased over the period of time. This gave rise to metropolitan cities like Pune. This paper tries to trace history of such places in Historic contexts. Cases of Pune Pandharpur, &Saswad are covered in this study. Bazaars & Bazaarpeths in Historic towns are Cultural Heritageof India. Traditional Bazaar places are most expressive public spaces need to be considered seriously as part of development processes at urban as well rural level. Research paper gives more emphasis on finding which all attributes of traditional bazaar could be considered as cultural heritage in Indian context.
